Change Beliefs, thoughts, and emotional reactions

MindWorks

A practical guide to changing thoughts, beliefs and emotional reactions

Also available in Spanish and on all major ebook retailers.

About the book

How does your emotional mind work? Why does it generate thoughts and emotional reactions that sometimes drive you to self-sabotaging behaviors? What if you could change the way your mind works? More than just telling yourself to think happy thoughts, it is essential to first develop an awareness of how the different parts of your mind operate.

In a powerful and practical way, MindWorks explains how our beliefs are socially ingrained, playing a leading role in our emotional state and the behaviors that follow. More importantly, you will find simple, consistent and easily achievable practices for developing new skills to dissolve the old beliefs that create unhappiness. Living a life free of emotional pain allows for possibilities of a more fulfilling and peaceful relationship with yourself and everyone in your world.

Feedback from most people has been that the book and online course compliment and support each other well.

The book acts more like a text book. It goes into deeper detail on the basis for the process and practices. While the online course is more of the workbook.

Yes and no. It is a book about how to identify and change your unconscious beliefs. If that helps, then it is doing what it is supposed to do.

Most books talk about goals and all the positive things you need to do to achieve them. They give you a plan. They will sometimes put a note in there that you will need to eliminate your sabotaging unconscious beliefs for the plan to be a success. But the don’t tell you how to identify your unconscious beliefs or how to change them.

MindWorks devotes the book to identifying and changing those sabotaging beliefs that also drive negative thoughts and emotions.

It is also very practical with the exercises it provides.

I think if you read the reviews you can draw your conclusions from what others have said.   I’m a little too close to to the work to be objective.

Yes. The book gives you clear actions and examples to work with.

Those that are motivated to change how they think, feel, and behave. With that motivation you will take action, and those new actions will deliver results.

If you want to entertain your brain with ideas, but don’t want change enough  to put them into action, then you won’t benefit. You will learn a lot. You will have a lot of knowledge and understanding from reading the book.

But the people who put in the work through practicing the exercises will be the people that benefit.

The book is not currently available in audio book. There are numerous podcasts, and the Self Master course that cover similar information available in audio.

It is available at all online retailers.

Mindblowing
This book offers a very unique perspective on changing limiting beliefs. It's not a gimmicky, quick fix, or technique based book (although it contains techniques). Instead, it breaks down the very essence of belief systems, how they're formed, and how they blind us to seeing things in any other way. This is perhaps the most valuable book I've read.

Great stuff
Excellent excellent book. I have read most everything by Mr. Van Warmerdam's mentor Don Miguel Ruiz, and this similarly cuts to the core, yet in its own unique way. It reads to me as if it were Don Miguel's teachings written by a clinical psychologist. All of the material felt self actually true, as though he were taking my thoughts or my head or whatever and clearly explaining how and why its operating as it seems to be doing. I would love for this book to be available as an audiobook, because I would listen to it on repeat over and over again.

Clearly, a seminal work for anyone to learn how to be happy!
Your book Mindworks is very informative. Most important for me, it's been extremely valuable in my own work. Your stories and examples are clear, concise and provide insight. The chapters have given me as many gifts as I've reread them several times. Each time another gift presents itself. Chapter Five, "Perspective" could be an all time great read for me. Seeing it as a mirror of sorts to examine time and time again.

If you are serious about change
If you are sincere about truly wanting to commit to change in your everyday life this is the book for you. I've found that many books will tell you what causes your suffering, but doesn't address the next step on how to exactly find where these negative thought feedback loops stem from. I highly recommend this book. This is actually my first review for any books I've bought because I think it is such a vital part to personal development. The Four agreements series also shares similar points so both couldn't hurt!

Deeply insightful, amazingly direct
I met the work of Gary van Warmerdam through his website, pathwaytohappiness. After experiencing his extraordinarily effective way of deconstructing complex cognitive-affective processes, and after experiencing numerous insights as a result, I decided to buy 'Mindworks." I'm pleased to say that it is every bit as helpful, and it's masterfully organized into a very purposeful sequence. I deeply admire his understand, but I admire and appreciate even more his ability to communicate it truly effectively. If I could keep only a dozen of my books for the rest of my life, "Mindworks" would be one of them.

MindWorks
This book is not just a self help book. It will change the way you think and feel about life. He doesn't just tell you to stay positive and use affirmations. The author actually gives you ways to correct those limiting beliefs that are holding you back from getting what you truly want. This book is a must read for all people struggling with negative lifestyles.
