Some notes to help you focus

Before you can change a belief you will need some skills. Some of those skills will also include awareness.  Awareness,,, that’s difficult to explain. It’s not something the intellect can grasp so you won’t be getting it by obtaining knowledge. It might be like a musician listening to sounds of specific instruments, and how they harmonize, or cancel each other. 

What you are going to pay attention to are your thoughts, emotions, body posture, perspective, attention, and personal power.  If you can track those things you can change them. 

Often you won’t notice these things until after the fact when you are writing about them. That is fine. You will learn  lot by taking this reflective or reviewing perspective. It trains your brain that these qualities are important. Then, with repetition you will notice these elements in the moment. Then you will be able to change them in the moment. 

 
 

You are going to be able to make big changes in your life

This is going to start by learning how to make small changes. You will gain greater control over your attention with each thing you practice.  Don’t worry that the mountain is big. Just keep taking steps.  

 

Resistance to change

 Some of the exercises will have resistance. You may not have resistance to some or any of them. But if you do, we don’t want you to get knocked off your path. And if you do, then we want you to learn from it, get more aware, stronger, and see how to stay on the path next time those resistance elements show up. 

The resistance are will help identify some of the common culprits that are testing to see how much you want this. In a way, they are challenging you and making you stronger with the gravity they make you work against. 

Common questions

Impossible to tell. Often the belief that people feel is the problem is just what their intellect is focused on. Usually the real important belief with all the emotion is a layer or two underneath that. 

I’ve seen some that took 2 years. But this was a case of strong sexual abuse, a schizophrenic mother and alcoholic father. She found acceptance of herself, forgave her mom, and is no longer afraid of being around strangers. 

In my own journey I didn’t find some for 2 years.  But I didn’t have an organized system like the Self Mastery course when I started.  

I’ve also seen big beliefs change in an hour. 

When those big beliefs have changed in an hour, it has always been because someone put in a lot of preparation work and dismantled other beliefs to weaken them first. 

A lot of it depends on how many years you have been packing your personal power into the same concept. It also depends on how willing and open you are to change your perspective.
